We're on the lookout for a few key roles, nationwide, but especially in Michigan, Maryland, Indiana, and California:
Area Director: Recruit State Directors in area; validate state bank record and financial statements; prepare monthly, quarter, and annual statements and plans for Area
activities and plans; assist with Corporate Sponsorships, national level relationships; conduct periodic Area planning meetings with State Directors to share best practices, etc.; solicit and provide input for quarterly newsletter; regularly communicate with all State, Regional, Event, Musical, and Staff volunteers, both formally and informally
State Director: Recruit Regional Directors Statewide; monitor and manage paperwork requirements with state, work with corporate on all filing requirements, etc.; manage state bank account, complete monthly financial reports for state, reconcile bank records, etc.; seek corporate sponsorships, be the primary point of contact for all communications by Jam for Vets for official matters in the state; conduct periodic regional planning meetings with Regional Directors and Event Directors to share best practices, etc.; solicit and provide input for quarterly newsletter, regularly communicate with all Regional, Event, Musical, and Staff volunteers, both formally and informally
Regional Director(s) Recruit Event Directors, teach and coach Event Directors, ensure the validity of all P&L statements for each event, co-sign with Event Director for all deposits, submit annual plan to State Director for events in region, participate in the planning and execution of as many events in region as possible to ensure smooth function, conduct periodic event planning meetings with Event Directors in Region to share best practices, etc., solicit and provide input for quarterly newsletter, regularly communicate with all Event, Musical, and Staff volunteers, both formally and informally
Talent Manager - Recruit and get to know all of the musicians willing to donate time to our cause. Advise the Regional and Event Directors, and Program Managers on the capabilities of the bands/musicians, and make recommendations on where they should be employed.
Program Manager - Manage the relationship between the local VA hospital the the volunteer corps of musicians; manage the performance schedule at the VA hospitals, manage all of the required paperwork, etc. required to work with the VA.
Legal Advisor - Looking for a lawyer that likes to Jam also, who will step up and join us and keep us out of trouble with the T's and C's, etc.
Event Committee Volunteers - Help plan and execute local events.
Established professional bands - If you're already playing out and are established, you and your band can immediately help us generate funds for our cause. We will support you any way we can, and need to hear from you. We will organize the events, all you have to do is play!
Amateur and/or "on the bench" Musicians - Get off the couch, out of the basement, and out of the garage! Join us at our regional meetings and meet up with a rapidly growing network of other musicians. Put a band together, learn some sets, get tight, and we'll put you to work! See our "discussions" tab on our facebook page also. From here, you can communicate with other musicians in the project that are looking to form a band.
Sound/Light Technician - We need help sounding good when we play. If you have equipment that you know how to run professionally, we need you!
Event Staff - We need a range of volunteers including set up/tear down and clean up, money collection and documentation, t-shirt and hat sales, tip collection, etc, etc, etc,. You don't have to be an expert; just friendly, trustworthy, reliable, and willing to donate your time for a great cause.
Publicist - Do you know how to get public service announcements placed, have connections to media, or otherwise know what you're doing? Well, we don't really, yet, and could really use some help here.
